Gareth Zimmerman, BA. MED., was head of the English Department at PW Bot ha Technical High School, George, and currently chairman of the George Branch of the Wildlife Society of SA. He has been a part time tour guide for Garden Route Tours and is a local preacher in the Methodist Church. As an educator & conservation protagonist, he believes that, where at all possible, existing natural areas should be retained, whereby all inhabitants of this country, young & old, and of all population groups, can have the opportunity of learning about God's creation in situ, undisturbed by economics and industry.
